I have an akai s950 sampler and I purchased it used. Its been sittin in my studio collecting dust for about a yr 1/2. I decided to jump on it and learn how to use it. I tried to save a sample on a floppy but it keeps giving me an "OOPs" message. Has anyone ever had tha problem. Doi need to replace the floppy drive? Can I replace it with any floppy drive or is there a special one?

Ooops means the file you're saving is too big if I remember rightly. The basic 950
had 0.75MB expandable to 2.25MB. A full memory should fit to two HD floppy disks
once the sampler's been expanded. A disk takes about 70% of memory I think.

Lovely sampler. 12-bit splendour! Mine's also been collecting dust, but I finished
my studies today, so I'll be rooting it out over the weekend. Oh for a VST version
with endless memory. Shame 'bout the stereo, but it is simple to use.

Back of head bell saying something about corrupted disks making the oops. Try a
new High Density. Oh and the disk button has access to a hard drive or floppy
option. In my swankier days, I had a whopping 20MB Atari drive stuck on the back,
soley for the 950, but I vaguely recall you could set it to either port even when no
RS23thingy was plugged in.

There's things can be done with a 950 and a Boss DD pedle that I can't even get
near with the pc and cubase.

I'll have a look for the manual tomorrow.
