Subject: bit rate conversion

so, i have those lovely movie dialog snippets that i found on the web and want to use them. they are 8 bit mono. is there anyway, or will it be simpler to get the movie and record them ?

ok, just pretend i didn't ask, such a stupid question.
doh, might as well answer it.
open in soundforge, click on the "sample size" box (bottom right corner)
et voila !!

how do you record the output of Talker, the voice thinghie ?
