Am bored at work, so was wondering.... has anyone picked up any new toys recently or planning to in the near future?

I've just got Tracktion 2 which is pretty cool so far (although had very little time to play with it), and am planning to pick up a M-Audio Trigger Finger drum pad.

nothing exciting, we got a boss 8 track as a scratch pad and a sm58 and mic stand, i was pushing for a laptop ... half size acoustic nylon string guitar, coz it was so cheap, next buy is a pair of event asp8 and a 30 quid set of surround speakers from argos.

and a load of rockwool slab and wood etc. for acoustic treatment.

well i still have that esp1010 to review, it looks well juicy

I got a s/h s950 to investigate... yummy!

i also got this fucking awesome atmospheres DVD of samples for Kontakt called SPACEHAWK.. phenomenal stuff!!!!... they used some nice old synths and stuff to make the sounds, very playable. I can recommend it Beds for film atmospheres etc.

Got a new Panasonic pocket-sized handycam cos it was for sale dead cheap In John Lewis's with no box or usb cable or firewire cable etc but with a full 2 year warranty tho from the shop. Nice little gadget, mini DV tapes, fits in you coat pocket.. so expect video reviews of live bands from this date cos it's small enuff to carry around all the time.

also a Behringer V-Amp 2 - AWESOME!... I don't care what people say about Behringer... it's v. good for 69 quid

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Not a musical toy, but since k mentioned his handycam....

I've become a big fan of smartphones (cell phones running Windows Mobile). Very cool little things... web surfing, email, mp3's, videos, streaming, the whole nine yards. You can load it up with memory and it could be your only portable media player. Nice screen for such a small phone too. I got the audiovox smt5600 and can't say enough good things about it. I think it's an Orange phone in euro.

I've always wanted a porn phone and now I got mine! muhahaha 'n' such.

Oh, and on the same tip, have you guys checked out ORB.com? It's an amazing free service that allows you to stream media files (audio, video, photos, and tv) from your home desktop to any internet node for no charge. It will even detect your connection speed and re-encode the media for your pipeline... so even if you're on a crappy 56k connection like my cell phone, the media still streams properly. You can even set up a video capture card and a USB IR device on your home computer to change channels on your cable box and view your cable TV remotely over the net. It's very very cool and worth checking out if you haven't already.

I treated myself to a EH Big Muff (russian edit) pedal last week... excellent for feeding drums through. Ohh, and while experimenting with those drums I (re-)discovered the ESP on the MS-20- actually never fed anything except for it's own source through there up to now, yum. That alone felt like having a new toy at the moment.

I'd like a PSP though

for almost a year I've had a sound system in a jamaican restaurant/reggae club, so mostly PA gear -- Audix D6, some used Rane EQs, a pile of QSCs, SPL meter, cables cables cables.
