I really want that full on smack that dance music has ie tunes done real well with gorgeous production
Malk

lolo, yeah.... well yes, the duende will do SSL, and thats it, so i spose the uad and liquidmix are certainly going to be more versatile choices

even tho the UAD has track record and is rated well by users and throughout the industry, i'd mebbe try the liquidmix... or both!

thing is with the UAD series is, the cheper product doesnt do many of the famous emulations, and to add them in on further-up models cost. Then you have WHAT they model, 1176, fairchild and LA2A

the question is, are these emulations more geared to appeal to makers of more traditional live guitar based music?

certainly out of the box you will get WAY more choices of eq and compression with Liquidmix, but there is other stuff in the UAD like reverb

tuff choice, i'd personaly plump for the Liquidmix... people say "well a compressor is s compressor, they dont have much obvious character in s/w plugin form".. I can say Liquidmix does offer very different characters of compressor and eq

anyways, you'd be able to flog it easy s/h if you dont like it

and probably there'll be more free models released by Focusrie in near future as they did with Liquidchannel ...AND in 'Free' mode you can make your own specialist eq's using components from any of the available eq's - that's also very flexible... and you get 32 mono channels

Cheers for the response Kilo (hope your crazy neighbours sorted by the way).
The thing is if you listen to say Anjunabeats who are doing some first rate tunes, i found out that
they use an analog desk and analog compressors and out board at points in production and it
shows as said tracks are real warm with some outrageous compression that actually changes
some of the bass lines with serious pumping without ever sounding naff, just want that
production, keep playing lotto!
When you get liquid mix can you do the heres some drums before and after stuff and the uad1 i
thought the top end comps and limiters made everything sound cool!
Cheers Malk
