here's one i'm working on

the idea is the top image can be preset, or an option version with editable colours and banner image which is replaced on upload
anyways first when we've finished the preset-create code fully we'll add the basic fixed templates, then add the colour-editable one
plus there'll be more templates with different layouts, for the first batch it's menu on top-right as in these examples:

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

But I agree with Milan. Perhaps the best solution for folks like me is to be able to personalise a template?
I've tried with a page on MySpace, but the table table table stuff is too fiddly, pictures end up where I didn't expect, etc, so a CSS I could edit would be cool.

ok, here's what'll happen
those variations above are all based on just one LAYOUT TEMPLATE... the colour style can be easily changed (when we finaly added the choices to admin) with a single click, for people who dont want to faff abut doing all the colours etc
I'll make some more LAYOUT templates, so there's a choice of layouts, and each layout template will have colour variations as with the one above
so we might have say 5 layout templates, each with 20 colour/top-image variations.. and
each layout template will allow the extra option to custom define the top banner-image (or add a flash-banner) and colours.

once the templates r done it's a doddle to change colours - you just reload with a different CSS definition, but i have to do that first, THEN work the code for adding your own colours which will also require a much clearer admin area for all that stuff, so it's obvious what you're changingwe can't get too crazy tho or it might not work in browsers, tbh, not even sure this one works outside IE 6 & Firefox 1.5, anyways, it's the way to go for sure

i've added XML blog feeding for users, so any news you add via danetech or 7161 admin gets an XML newsfeed.... tested in google reader and bloglines (the site the bbc recommend to read their XML) - seems to work ok
anyways check it if you like - the default Homepage shows the artists details/default image and news/blogs added in last days (not decided how far back yet)
it WILL display images added with news items, such as flyers, but images must be .gif or .jpeg to display in XML feeds- .jpg doesn't work

further tweaks coming - i've got it so all the new template homepages can be instantly created, but i gotta go back and tweak a few things more.... more soon

the flash upper is uolpoaded from homepage admin as usual, the new templates pick that up, and the template stretches it to 760 x 200, i can make the height less if it's thought best, mebbe 160 or whatever?
all the colours i choose are set from the new admin colour editor which is way more easy, if you use PS or something to get the tones more co-ordinated you can make subtle changes
all the colours can be set for the menu bg & txt and mouse-overs for bg & txt
the itunes podcasting is all added in, as is RSS output for blog/feed of news
I also addedi na switch so it records your homepage url and that can be added ot the artist pages on the site.
the podcasting output displays in a reader with an image for each news item, and links for each item (as added with each 'add news' addition in admin)
The podcast reader if displaying channel stuff shows your INTRO profile description from your profile edit with your default user-image if added.
you gotta use jpg or gif images in news for them to display in rss reader
anyone wanna test? there's some bugs no doubt
