Im using Reason 3 & currently working on a new track and at the point where the Prodigy kick drum (which has a deep thumping sound) comes in within redrum it 'dulls' the overall volume marginally, but still noticeably removing the crispness from the other tracks within the sequencer.

I have tried changing the kick to another & this removes the problem, however it also changes the sound & feel of the track Im trying to create.

Any ideas how I can overcome this & still use the original kick with out the sound degredation please?

Would hi/lo pass filters help in this case?

Ive not come across this one before, albeit in my short & brief music making days!

have u got a compressor at work over the drum output or main mix out?

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Thanks guys, I managed to resolve this, basically I dumped it & opted for somthing better I came across, but at least now I understand a little more about compression as a direct result.
