I am looking for a pickup for my acoustic violin for use in a choir. So I am mainly concerned with purchasing a top-quality pickup that will reproduce the complex acoustic tone of the violin with almost as good quality as a condenser microphone.
Other requirements include that the pickup be easily removable from the violin and not be part of a replacement bridge.
The Shadow violin pickup SH 945-V was recommended to me, -does this genuinely suit my requirements? Or is there a better quality pick-up that I should be looking for?
What pickup would you recommend?
What multi-effects pedal would you also encourage me to use that would work well with the pick-up that you recommend?
