i wrote a letter to my teenage self. scary thing is he wrote back.

any good captain of a sinking fedex cargo boat will go down with his shipping.

i once new a 1/2 man, 1/2 horse. i couldn't stand him. he always had to be the centaur of attention.

I used to play conga with sitar guy and the whole audience used to stair at him. I did not mind that he was center of attention, I mean that's why I learned to play conga - so I could hide in the corner. Anyways, I ended up buying his sitar. And the thing wont stay in tune. Maybe it dont help that I play it with drum sticks like a hammer dulcimer; either way the thing dont stay in tune. Oh it sounds cool when the stick bounces into diddle rolls. You can get up to 64th's when the stick lightly bounces. Actually I use a chopstick from Chinese take out.

playing sitar with chop sticks. i like it. you have your hi main string, your mid-range main string, and your lo mein string.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Haha. I listened to the song. It's hard to catch a few of the words so I kept moving the slider back. I scrolled down to comment and I saw you had posted them. Holy crap!

I like the lyrics and also the music. The music has a lot of late 60s/early 70s feel to it, like a mix of styles from that time mixed together and well done.

1982 mate. NY "new wave" they'd have labelled it. very clever lyric i think.

by 1982 i was full into studying sitar newly married and by spring living in Germany. i missed all kinds of music for years while playing sitar. i agree. lyrics are clever. "stepped off the curb into 10 years ago". love that line right at the start.
