Yes, I'm aware of that - but me and some friends plan to do a Supernova
adaption (or even a module) for Emagics SoundDiver which requires SysEx
communication.
So please send a copy of the SysEx specs to my snailmail address:

This is great... but let me ask privately: How come that you didn't notice
this before shipping the unit ?

>The OS is in Flash. Upgrades will be available free on our site and are
MIDI Files.

Great. Would you appreciate a user combined wishlist for future OS upgrades ?

Good. 16 voices is not enough for the possibilities of this beast
By the way: I compared the NordLead/An1x/Virus and JP8000 against SuperNova. Soundwise it beats them all!

>Vers 2 as said earlier will be available next week. Vers 3 has the new
stuff. >this will be avilable on August 1st. We are working on intersting things, I will >keep you posted when we have concrete spec.

This would be great. The 1st version of our Supernova website will be online
next week. I'll post the url on the nova-uk form then.

>With regards to knob modes we are undecided. Please advise your thoughts on the matter.

The best solution would be if we could decide (via a parameter in global)
between three knob modes.

---------- POSSIBLE KNOB MODES -----------------------

1.) absolute (the current mode)

---------------------------------

2.) fetch-then-toggle: Whenever a knob is turned from a physical position
which is not equal to the
value stored in the program memory the display says something like:

-- Frequency Cutoff: 34 (the current value as stored in program memory)
-- Knob position: 120 (the current physical value)

So we turn the knob until we have the following display (and while we turn
the knob no changes to
the upper parameter are done)

-- Frequency Cutoff: 34
-- Knob position: 34 *match*

So from now on if change this knob, it works as usual.

----------------------------------

3.) relative mode / aka offset mode: When ever a knob is turned, its current
position will be act as the
value stored in program memory and the rest of the physical range will be
mapped to the rest of the
logical range. For instance the cutoff in memory is 63 and the cutoff knob
points to 15 o'clock
instead of the logical 12 o'clock. Then if we turn clockwise, we can reach
values between 64 and 127
(naturally in a lower physical resolution due to the lesser range) and if we
turn counterclockwise we
can reach the values between 62 and 0 (naturally in a higher physical
resolution).

(by the way, mode 2 and 3 will be incorporated into the next Nord Modular
OS... you really should have these
modes, too  )

Bye for now and please know that we absolutely appreciate your participation in the communication with user on the Internet! My experience has led me to believe that there are still many companies which
underestimate the value of online support such as you do.

L8ter,

Regards,
