Hi Phill,

Why does a closed HH cutoff the sound of
the open HH in the 909 kit as well as in the 808 kit ???

Is this a bug in the machine ?
Was this the same in the originals
from Roland ??
If it was, why didn't you correct this ?

Greetings,

Steve

Although I am not a connoisseur on the subject, I seem to remember that the old Roland drum machines did exactly the same (wonderful sound wasn't it), and that the drumstation emulates that sound (great isn't it) why make your recordings all muffled with Hi Hats and Closed Hat over each other, when you can get a crisp action as it is now.
No bugs involved.

Well, i THINK if you look in the manual you can set it in the utilities menu so that it doesnt cut off the other cymbal.. I think you just have to assign them to different groups.

if you got a real drumset, you'd NEVER play an open and closed hihat after each other, without the first played hat closing the second hat. the drumstation only acts like a real drumset. it is NOT possible to play an open and closed hat at the same time. (except when using different sets like 808/closed 909/open).

Thewaiter is correct...

The orig units did it and so thats what the DrumStation does.
