quick question about the drumStation. I can use the audtion button to get the 808 sound that I want out of the machine, but I can't seem to replicate it with my sequencer and midi controller. What are the specifics that go on when you press the audition key?

The specific is the last thing you altered when usong the audition key.

To change values of specific parameters use controllers as specified in the manual.

maybe you misunderstood me. I want to know exactly what is sent to the BassStation when the audition key is pressed. I understand how the controllers work, I just can't seem to get the sound the audition key makes with my midi controller and sequencer. Does this make sense now?

easy isn't it?

that is what I am trying to ask. What note is sent to the Bass/Drum station when you press the audition key? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the manual.

The info sent is to the key assigned to the sound (sounds where key range is fixed) for sounds assigned to a range across they keyboard. I will find out the story for sounds assigned over a range of the keyboard

Hi, I've got a DrumStation with OS 12, so I was kind of thinking to myself: how can I upgrade the OS, without the use of hammer's, screwdriver's, chlorine and steel wool???
-I would be gratefull if you (being Phill) could take me (the cro-magnon-man)
and my fossile DSR-1, into the 20th century!!!
-just kidding!!

Have a nice day and thanks for the Supernova, it degraded my Nordlead to master keyboard!
