The spec is still under development...sorry, its taking longer than we expected...all the input from users and stuff has been taken into account and we are addressing them...

I would say 3-4 weeks..sorry I know I've said this before, but early december is the deadline..

Cheers Phill

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait - that effects-morphing feature sounds way cool!

Phill, I assume that feature-list in the news section isn't comprehensive? One feature I'd really like is to be able to sync the pan effect to MIDI clock - is that in OS3?

Sorry, patience, patience...all will be revealed soon!

Regards
Harry

P.S. Great new web site - nice graphics.

Please, with the OS 3 version update, fix the clicking noises in the effects! It drives me out of my mind if I'm playing a sound that isn't noisy. Any type of ambient pads and such with reverb, delay, or chorus turned up, I hear slight clicks :*(

I only have problems with the OS2 delay effect... though this was supposed to be fixed with OS2... what other problems do you have ?

Mickey.

Yes, I sometimes hear little clicks while playing... f.ex., playing with one of the new sounds, "Echoed Triad". As I said, little clicks, but clicks after all!
Just another thing: Having the best synth means nothing if you canīt rely on it, and thatīs what is happening to me... Did they talk about gigs? How do they suppose Iīm going to use the supernova at live sessions if the arpeggiator fails randomly? The fact is that OS3 is necessary to be finished as soon as possible becuse there are things that need to be fixed up; novation doesnīt have the obligation to give extra features with new releases of the OS, but its of course oblied to give to the users a reliable machine, and to fix the bugs as soon as possible, instead of thinking about new filters, morphing and all that stuff.

Cheers.

Just got myself a Supernova and it does sound VERY
good. It's the operating system that seems to be
letting me down pretty much all the time. This occurs
in the way of hanging notes, arpeggiator patterns that
won't stop (ever...), notes sometimes not triggering,
patches sometimes stopping dead.Power is nothing
without control (Pirelli ad I believe.) and on the same
token features etc. don't really add up to fuck all
without some degree of reliability. The last thing the
Supernova needs is another filter or F/X facility, there
is enough of that already, just make the damn thing
do what it says on the box. If I can't get it to work
it'll go back to the shop (and they'll no doubt send it
back to you) and buy myself a Roland Jupiter 8. They
work you know...

Hi there.

I would like to tell you my idea about OS release.

1. Bugfixes should be released FIRST (OS2.1)

2. New functions should be released after the synth is working fine.

Everyone who works in the software buissness knows how difficult and time consuming it is to develop new release. Look at blizzard or any other of the big "SHARKS". They have lernt that release dates arent a month, but a season or even year.

Im not trying to be a pain in the ass, but in the future it would be better if you could anounce a realistic release date, or none at all (sometime in 99)

Thanks for a GREAT synth, and keep up the good work!

Yep I know the release has taken a lot longer to realise then expected but...

We are adding significant new features...Great Rev Alg's dont take 5 minutes!

Sorry again for the delay but we will try to get it out ASAP. I will advise as soon as I have a realistic release date.

Cheers,
Phill@Novation

OS 3 will come as a Standard-Midi-File, compatible
with every Standard-Midi-File player (there are LOTS of them on the Atari)... so: no problem

Mickey.

Sorry I have not posted the beta yet...I found a small problem with it that should be fairly simple to fix...

Hopefully I will post during easter....Keep an eye out!!

I will let you know of course when I have done it.

Final version is still sheduled as planned Mid-Late April. Yes I will post the beta anyway unless you'd prefer to wait for the full version?

Sounds will also be posted on release of final version.

Cheers,

Phill@Novation

I don't know why we are all bothering to wait for OS3 - it's obviously not going to arrive this millenium!! I would like to make the point that for an OCTOBER original release date, OS3 is more than well and truely late, and for some of us, it's now toooooooo late. I have put my Supernova up for grabs. Anyone who wants this useless pile of crud should contact me at the E-Mail above. Price Ģ250 ono.

Phill, I have well and truely lost my faith in Novation. It is totally unfair to keep the General Public hanging around, with broken promise after broken promise. I shall go buy a Roland, at least they SUPPORT the people who spend over Ģ1000 on a piece of useless crud!!!!

I would like a response, but I doubt you'll give one.

Yours Truely

Mr. P. ISSE-DOFF.

Hey, I'll buy your Supernova from you for Ģ250, no problem...except perhaps that you don't actually own one in the first place.

Jees, the things Roland support staff get up to these days!

Yup, I'll have your SN for 250 quid.

I can only assume that you really love dumping on yourself if you want to make that sort of loss!

Hands up who knows ONE piece of software that was released on the original date?

Anyway what the hell is the problem? Anybody would think that the SN is unusable with OS2.

GET A GRIP!

The manual describes how to do it..

Basically select Sysex transmission parameter in global and use the lower fast data knob to select Total data.. set your seq to record and press the midi button in Part Edit section.
