Hi all

Is it possible to have a more "incisive" distorsion / overdrive as effect.

I mean if is possible to have it as the Rebirth 338 distorsion , very effective )

Thanks,

Nihal

Hm. This is a good question to which I would alsolike to see the response.

Lots of companies seem to offer distortion on their synth product but this never really seems to cut it when used.

Rebirth 338 does have a great distortion and, as this is a physical model, there is no reason why a similar capability could not be provided on any modeled synth.

Of course, you can get close to this or even beat it by overdriving the desk (well, it;'s great on a Mackie anyway) . But why not give a great distortion algorithm in every modeled synth.

Hi Phil

I mean on the Supernova.
The distorsion is not so overdriven as should be...

The distortion does work well...check your levels...Osc levels should be full...level in part edit should be full...use the overdrive in the filter to get more signal...if you are making simple sounds, i.e. one osc use all three with the same parameter settings and with the oct/semitone tune paramaeters set to the same valuues and fine tune set to 0 on all oscillators. This makes the oscillators phase locked and so sound like one loud oscillator...effectivley this will give you 10db more drive to the distortion than one single osc..

I think the distortion distorts enough... if that's not enough, feed a digital mixer with +12db level. *grin*

Mickey.
