Hi,

3/10/99 -

I was thinking about upgrading my Supernova to the 32 voice model, in order to use buttons that are dead at the moment on my 16 voice version...."special" button function, etc.

With the OS 3 up and coming and the issue that it's going to add voices, will I be wasting money in getting the expansion where I will be essentially getting the same thing in the OS 3 upgrade?

Please, honestly, do let me know.

The expansion card only addresses the amount of voices. You'll get 44 instead of 20 (with OS 3).

Right. This will have no
effect on the operation of
your "special" buttons. They
will still be "unavailable."

As well as providing extra voices, the expansion card also doubles the number of memories from 512 Programs to 1024 Programs and from 256 Performances to 512 Performances.

Hey Phill,

is it possible to bring out an expansion board that not only doubles polyphony, but multi-timbrality too?

I have no idea about the technicalities of this suggestion but it would be a great advance...

Sorry an expansion for Multitimbrality is not possible on the Supernova.
