anyone know how to create quality gritty hoover sounds, every thing i try sounds to clean too synthy

Really ? Did you find the overdrive knob and the distortion engine ? Use it with some sync sounds and... puuuahh...

Hoover sounds? are we talking vacum cleaner emulation here??

Overdrive works the best when all oscillators have a mix level of 127...

cheers for the help, but i still cant find what i'm after, the problem is the lfo's are going mental, like voohaavoohaavoohaa not vooooooooooooh
which is what i want. ive tried twidling with the speed on the saw and square but the sound keeps spinning, any advice.

If you are talking about the "Dominator" \ "Mentasm" hoover sound, this is easiest created using an envelope generator, not LFO's to mod the pitch. Stack 3 Sawtooth wave's, detune them slightly, add pitch EG modulation, season with chorus and distortion or filter overdrive to taste.

Just for the record the actual sound is a preset on Roland Alpha Juno's called "What The?" It is quite unplayable due to the sheer randomness of the pitch modulations and is virtually always sampled when heard on records. I once created a very accurate emulation on a Roland MV30 using autobend. Hope this helps.

Phill!! Thats it!!! yes, do some hoover sounds for me please! that way the wife will think I am actually cleaning the house  Btw, can you do a patch for "Dishwashing" emulation
