i had trouble upgrading with cubase, cakewalk, and digital orchestrator on my windows pc. i had to go into control panel/multimedia and click on the midi tab. i highlighted the output of the supernova and exited. now i held the 8 part button on the supernova while rebooting and opened the windows media player. with the SN screen reading "waiting for midi o/s", i dropped the new os midi file into the media player. this was too easy. if this doesn't work, be sure your media player is set up to play midi files. with your player open, click on the view tab and open the options window. in the options window, click on the formats tab and make sure the midi box is checked. now exit and try over. beat the hell of figuring out the problems with my sequencers. good luck

you can also download the update smf
application from rolands website. it is a hassle free way to load os updates. I
have used it with a few different keyboards and never had a problem
