i've just bought a novation bs and i've a pc with a db50xg and cakewalk pro audio 5. i presume this is good enough to right dance and techno. i also have a midi keyboard. my question is when assigning the novation to ch1 i still here the drum of my sound card and not the noise from the novation, if i stick haedphones into the BS then i can hear the sequence playing but how can i record the rest with the stupid drums being controlled at the same time as the BS. HELP!!
also what about delays i quatised a loop from the BS but it wasn't in time at all. sorry to babble but im stuck cheers!! any other advice would be appreasheated, thank you...

whoops........right.in the midi section of cakewalk, you can select outputs to be available to the programme tracks....you must select the internal synth (db50) & the external midi out....then click "MOVE SELECTED DEVICES TO THE TOP"......

tHEN GO TO THE BASSTATION TRACK, AND ASSIGN THE MIDI OUTPUT FOR THAT TRACK TO BE "external midi out"....Whatever that is for your soundcard/midi device....

Next, assign your drums to channel 10, and in the dialog midi box for that track, assign it to the DB50XG............
Then it should work ok......It seems that you are sending midi out to BOTH the external midi out....AND...the internal midi out.......

By the way....You can use the Basstation (if it's a keyboard version) as your midi controller keyboard, so if the keyboard size is ok for you, then you can sell the midi only keyboard you have, and put the dosh to something else.....(if your short like)

As for quantisation, it often fucks up, depending on the feel of the pattern you played, AND the quantise setting you have selected (16th's etc etc).........
