Does SCSI make that much difference regarding sound quality
when used in a PC based, digital recording workstation? I understand that
speed is good when recording digital audio, but is it worth upgrading to?

well........now we have pci busmaster cards such as the event stuff coming real cheap.....and of course we are now able to buy P200 or 166 very cheap.....So if you add 64 mb ram, then with eide, this should be good for an easy 8-16 mono tracks....If you go for scsi, you'll need to go for wide scsi, or fast scsi2...at least to get better throughput than Ide.........then you need a fast controller card.....for fast2 or wide, you need like 2940 adaptec......these alone are about 180 quid........then the drive is like about 400 ish for 2gb.........so.......I reckon for most dance audio needs, eide is plenty.....for the same price as 3 gb of scsi, you can have 3 X 3 gb eide in your machine........
