okay well. basically im new to all this stuff.
anyways me and a friend are thinking of investing
in a synth to make musak that we both like, but
the problem is i like goa/trancey musak whereas he
is a more d&b person, so yer. what would be the
best way to get this happening. ie. we by
something(s) to satisfy both our needs?

thanx

My first advice would be: don't think of it as an investment, think of it as money you are going to lose. Technology always gets cheaper. So no matter when you
buy, it's almost always the wrong time.

Now, how much money do you have to toss? Of course that is key to what instrument I would reccomend. Do you want something that is plug and play or are you committed enough to make your own sounds?

well, you could use something like hammerhead for your d&b stuff......played back from a sampler or h/d programme.....in any case, you both could use a sampler........especially if you wanna play out live........so that would be a great start point....as for the rest.......you need a good poly synth.....I suggest holding on until nearer christmas..........I can tell you there is a product due for release that should sort you out......so hold on, and resist the urge to go mental with your dosh just yet.....there are a few new products coming before xmas time....
