Subject: Kilo....Undo patch for Soundblaster?? Help!!

Kilo ( or anyone else that can help me )... Havindg read
the article on the soundblaster card i noticed that there
was a download availible that could turn SB16 to full
Duplex (Possibly).......Well i downloaded and ran the patch....a short while later i also ran Memmaker as
suggested in another part of your most excellent site
Now... when using Cool Edit the sound from my stereo
can no longer be heard and my mic has stopped working.???? firstly i don't know whether the
memmaker or download duplex caused the prob and secondly even having the original floppy disks i
don't seem to be able to reinstall the original software
onto my card ( keeps asking for "intel Configuration
manager" ( where do i get this) ).... having just
downloaded Hammerhead and Making Waves i am
desperate to get my Blaster back to its full potential !!!

ok.......if you run memmaker, and get things fucked up, then do this:
boot into dos and type:
dir config.*
this gives a list of all config files....
rename the current config.sys, which will be the oly one with the extention config.sys by typing:
ren config.sys config.old
your config.sys will now be named config.old....next......
find most recent config. file, after the one you just changed by looking at the dates,let's say it's called: config.000..... that will be the previous working version.... rename that file by typing:
ren config.000 config.sys
then reboot, and try it.......... if neccessary, repeat for autoexec.bat
