Subject: Which Sound Card ?????

I'll start from the beggining
I'm kinda new to this computer music stuff, but not to computers or music separately.
I've just got my new PC up and running (K6200,32Mb,3.6Gb, etc), I've had a DB50XG for about 12months but have only used it for backing for guitar type stuff.
Anyway, getting to the point, now I have a decent PC, I rekon it deserves a decent sound card so I can get around to having a dabble with a bit of dance, and also use the PC instead of my chicken shit Fostex 4 track which was crap when I bought it and hasen't improved.
Unless anyone has other sugestions, I'm trying to decide between the EWS64 which is obviously the dog testicals, and a Maxi Sound 64 home studio which is obviously a bit Mickey Mouse, but it might be good enough, I just don't know!!!
So, in short, should I bite the bullet and give the 400 quid, or might I get away with being a skin flint. If anyone has experianced the Maxi Sound 64 I'd love to hear about it, cos I'm not made of money and it is only a hobby really.
P.S I'm currently running Cake Pro Audio 6, which even through my ultra noisy £12 SB clone, kicks shit out of the old Fostex.
