I just saw one of these posted in the classifieds yesterday and I wondered if anyone has any experience with them they wanted to share. Are they any good? Whats a good s/h price? Good features? How does it differ from an S-900? And most important, should I get it?

sounds the same.... still 12 bit, but you get extra facilities, including timestretch function.... and I think, a little more memory... like maybe an extra 1/2 or 1 mb ram..... good little units if you can get one cheap..... anyone ??....

I believe the 950 has resonant filters, the 900 doesn't

I believe not.
It has some kinda 25-pin port (I don't think it's scsi though) that (I think so, anyway) let you transfer samples between your PC and s-950.

actually the port is for daisy chaining ide drives for storage. I had one. they are pretty cool, but if you are getting one with it's base storage only... be prepared to get annoyed. Mountain International is the only place that i have found to get memory for it... if anyone gets one, find this company. He loves to make deals on mem for Akai s-950's.
