Hi!
Two days ago I wanted to install and registrate my
Opcode Vocoder PlugIn with VST/ Wave Lab.
After installing DirectX and this PlugIn I found
the Vocoder as effect-module in WaveLab and VST.
When I started Vocoder, a window told me to
input my Reg. number..... When I did this job,
WaveLab and VST crashed (... fuckin bullshit...).
Demo-mode was available.
I called Opcode and they told me Wave Lab and VST
isnt´t able to give the user any possibility to
input a Reg.No. of this (and maybe other)
PlugIn. It´s a bug in WaveLab and VST........
Its really boring..... some weeks ago I´ve read
in Key´s (German Keyboard/Music-Magazine) that
this PlugIn works fine with WaveLab......

I´ve sent an e-mail to Steinberg, but they let me
wait till my ass gets sore.....

Does anybody have an idea, how to solve this
problem?

THNX Clemens

PS. Original mail-reply from Opcode:

"The VOCODE software is currently not compatible with Cubase software.
The problem is that the Cubase program (or WaveLab) captures all
keyboard strokes for their software. When you try to input the serial
number, the Cubase program doesn't recognize that their are any other
items to select, other than their software screen items. We've passed
this information to Steinberg, and they should be able to resolve this
problem. You should contact them for the status of this."

Hey !!!
I´ve got another mail from Opcode (... they are really
fast.... Steinberg should have a look at Opcode´s
support-line....).

Here it is:

" We are currently working closely with Steinberg to resolve this problem,
which appears to be in the way Cubase VST and WaveLab handle keyboard
input. As part of this effort, we are attempting to ship all of our
plugins as native VST plug-ins. We hope to do this fairly soon.

Please stay in touch, and I will let you know as soon as this is resolved."

Well, if it's steinberg....I'd give up...ask for my money back, and buy a hardware unit..... my mate waited a year to get a cubase that WOULD work with his DAL card (AS IT QUOTED IT WOULD IN THE CUBASE LITERATURE !!!)

sorry if that sounds bad.....

Well my friend, think you are right!

When I tried to contact Steinberg Hotline last time,
I never got back any reply to my answers.
And only God knows, when they´ll update the ASIO-drivers
for more Sound-/ Digital I/O cards and fix this bug with
Vocoder and other PlugIns.....

So, lets hope anyway.....

Bye

Clemens
