well it's a straight analog stereo in/out card........so it's not for digital.....but it's a pci busmaster.......not withstanding any adverse effects that may have occured with TB being taken over by Voyetra, it should now be the card of choice for decnt level entry audio ....being a PCI busmaster it'll give more tracks/faster throughput....
