>So what's the ppq of the MC505's sequencer? 1/16?
96 or 1/64th same as 303
>Can you sequence complex >beats besides 4/4?
Yup and its much easier than the 303 because you can see the note, Gate and velocity on the LCD as you scroll forward thru time
With the 303 if its out of range the keys will not not light
Also It will transmit MIDI messages through the active channel from the D-Beam depending on what the beam is assisgned to. Ex. Modulation, PAN, cutoff/Res combo etc

Does the part mixer function like a regular mixer? How many channels does it mix?

Does anyone know if you can set separate levels, and effects levels for all the individual drums on the 505????

Setting individual levels,FX,filter settings, outputs is a breeze on the 505.
First take a preset kit and write it to the user memory.
Then run through all the keys from B1 up while the kit is selected and as you touch each key you can set just about anything you like for that particular Rhythm tone. Any of the knobs/sliders will modify the selected rhythm tone so you can easily tweak each sound to your hearts content
I use this method to send all the kick sounds to the Direct 1 panned left, Snares Direct 1 panned right. hats etc etc. Then out they go into a VS880.
Once you set up the kits the way you want them selct them in your user Programs rather than the preset kits.

There are 8 sliders that have multiple functions depending
on what mixer mode is selected.

I don't have the 505 or manual handy but I think they are:
Level
Pan
Pitch Shift
EFX/Out
Delay
Reverb
Megamix

They apply their changes once moved directly to the part that
corresponds to the slider.

Some such as EFX/OUT just toggle the Part from DRY to EFX on
whereas Level operates in the range 0-128.

ps.
The D-Beam will transmit MIDI messages depending on what
parameter it is assigned to and only when MIDI tx in on.

pps
Another cool feature that differs from the 303 is that it
can operate the internal synth at the same time as it transmits
MIDI for any part where this feature is turned on.
