has anyone heard about the new operating system for Akai S2000/S3000XL, which increases the range of filter types available?

Nope....All i know about is a expansion-card that does that....It sound strange that a software upgrade would give u more filter-types....

apparently it's the same sort of upgrade that EMU did with the ESI32. You still need the expansion board, but the software will increase the number of filters further. I heard it's gonna be out very soon.
