How Do you Match say a Drumloop sample with a

WELL... lets assume you have an unknown BPM tempo drum loop and you want to get the bassline to match it.... or the other way round ..... I stick it into a track of any h/disk & sequencer s/w set a sequence loop up.... so if for example the loop is one bar of 4 beats... then set up the sequencer so it's going from bar1 to bar 2 ....round and round in a cycle-mode or loop-mode or whatever they call it.......... then adjust the tempo until i get the best loop possible..... this then gives your bpm for the loop.......in vst, you can apply time stretch,..... and specify the bpm.... however if you dont have that or any other tool that does the job, then read the message:
How to change tempo on a drum loop

it's listed above. it'll tell you about cool-edit demo available at this site. it'll do timestretch for you for free. !!!....if you dont get a readout of the bpm... you'll have to apply guesswork, or import the drumloop....check it's length... then inport the bassline loop, and apply the same length.... this gets you useually a reasonable match, then fine-tune it... enjoy...
