I have been looking at buying a SU-10 for a while now...looks like a hell of a sampler for the money. A few questions not answered on this site...

Does it do timestretch?
Will its lack of a MIDI THRU be a problem? I only use a PC+Juno 106 now so I have no experience in loking up sever midi devices...according to the specs it only has midi in&out. also, I have heard it has a built in sequencer? Is this so?

thanks all...
andrew

When I wanted to buy the SU10 I was really excited too!....BUT i returned it after a week.

It seems cool, but if u have high quality stereo sound u can only have either 2 part polyphony or monophy!! 1 OR 2 SOUNDS IS NOT COOL. It is a cool gizmo, but I opted to return it and saved up for the MPC 2000 which is great. Maybe l8er on I will buy the SU10 again and keep it. The scratch pad is fun, but if u wanna use it as your only sampler, especially to create like drum beats and shit, it is not the way to go.

It's the cheapest stereo outboard resonant filter ever, it holds samples in memory (as opposed to re-loading every time you turn it on), and Ec8or uses one live. If the midi out can be set as a midi thru, like most devices with only 2 midi ports, then you're set, since the onboard sequencer isn't really good for anything anyway. It's really easy, you can play samples in reverse real-time, but I returned mine after 3 weeks. Actually, I bought it intending to return it (after I used it for a gig ;), so don't let that influence your decision.
