Ok.... I'm gonna add all the old vintage synths... not that i've used them all myself.. but i'm gonna dd the spec's then people can add comments based on real-life use.... so , as i had nothing to do today, i thought i'd start to add them as basic page templates... then add the spec's later....so...The ARP 2600..... please add your comments

The ARP 2600 was Alan R. Pearlman's response to the MiniMoog. Among the things added to the MM's basic synthesizer functions were variable pitch noise, a Sample and Hold, internal voltage sources and inverters and a spring reverb. His greatest contribution was a way of arranging things so that the most desirable signal was already going right where you wanted it to go, but, unlike the Mini, you could, by adding a cable or two, completly change the way the sound was being created. The cable you plugged in replaced the factory setting, JUST LIKE a headphone cuts out a speaker. It could modify external sounds to a degree. The most famous is the Who's ""Won't get folled again." which modifies a Hammond B3 by chopping the chords (and their echo) into perfect 8th notes.

I just got one! I can't believe my luck to find such a rare instrument for sale at a farmhouse in middle England, but hey, these things happen. :-) Once it's cleaned up, it's going to take pride of place at my new studio. Call me lucky if you like. ;-)
