Yeah! Mostly for grafik design tho but still...I could see a copy of reason sneaking it's way on to the hard-drive. Specs? G4/867 dual-processor(!)256/60/Combo/Geforce4MX/56K, factory refurbished, 1 year factory warr, uh huh, yeah, and all that. How much!? $1400, which I think is a pretty good deal. Out here in SF Bay area, there are more WTB ads than for sale when it comes to G4s, sheesh.

So now all that sneaking around copying s/w from my work will finally pay off HEE HEE!!!

Don't worry, I'm still 100% PC when it comes to my music, hell yeah.

Ok so you can add a powerlogix board and get
a used cube for a lil more than a dual 867
tower.Wow what a bargain.

H- and it would be 800Mhz only unless you
add a fan.Plus you'd still be stuck w/ a
5400rpm ATA 66 drive.thanks but no thanks.

Well it's here! I'm typing on it right now!!! It *is* a noisy
little f*cker but like I said, this box is for graphic design
only- my windows music box is down in the studio- and
it's got a NICE quiet fan on it!! I'm sure there's some
quiet 3rd-party-made fans for G4s out there? gotta be...

funny tho b/c I got this thing yesterday, set it up last nite,
and all I got was a fuckin grey screen!!! I messed
around, checked connections inside&out. figured it
prob. needed to be booted off a disc, like you would a
PC. Only I couldn't get the drive to open- not w/ key
commands or paper clip! In true macintosh-user
fashion, I called Apple support this morning and I was
right- just had to reinstall the OS. You hafta hold down
the eject key, not just tap it, to open the drive on start-
up. Quite a common problem I guess; the grey screen. I
can only imagine the apple-support calls, 'HELP!!! My
computer is broken!!" HAH HA HA.

But for real this thing is sick tho. Gotta admit Apple puts
a lot of thought into design, ease-of-use, etc.. very
smooth to use. But how do I turn off this stupid lady's
voice?!!

Not Good for a new Mac.I'd swap out if you
can.Apple does make lemons you know.If you
go the service route if it acts up later make
sure the service guy they send out has
actually worked on macs.My 450 G4 had it's
Mboard,Hard Drive,and Modem replaced
because I couldn't return it(small reseller/ex-
"pal")My ATI card acts up to this day.I just
sprayed it w/ contact cleaner and it seems to
be working now.But I paid $2500 for it and
expected a good mac out of box.Mine's good
w/self help now and then.It should stay on the
? mark if it's all good.not trying to freak you out
but return it if you can.

H-it's not the end of the world though.My eMac
has been spot on out of the box.but I damn
sure got it from Comp USA after my previous
experience.

BTW- if my spulling is f'd up i'm druink and I
have big fingers
