okay found out how for mac 9.2

highlight logic icon(4.7.1) the main icon

press hold down apple key and "i"

then after that is self explanitory

tech said not to allocate all of your ram just 50
to 60 percent thats availible

it was cool i was expecting this long wait and
a tech answered in 1 minute hehe

well, with all that money they spent on their computers, there's probably little budget left for internet access

this memory thing makes a BIG difference in performance (in Cubase at least). I'm guessing you're sort of a mac newbie, so another thing that will probably increase performance is re-configuring your extension set. start out with "Mac OS 9 base" and add music related ones as needed (there might be a recommended extension set for Logic users somewhere too). and in the memory control panel, lower the disk block buffer size to 512k--ignore the warning. these helped cubase, but I figure they'll help logic too.

psy, the real reason we mac users are so sparse is that we are busy posing in front of the mirror with our powerbooks, shopping for status symbols, getting liposuction, drinking starbucks, and taking our purebred pets to therapy.

"well, with all that money they spent on their computers, there's probably little budget left for internet access  "

wanna hear about costs of running a mac? i´ve been asked by a studio to help fix their fancy G4 which hosts their PT rig (sorry for dirty talk ;), and the bloody motherboard which needs to be replaced costs 750 f'in euros!!! for that kinda money i could put together a pc which would put the G4 to shame! outrageous! and the thing is not under warranty because they bought it from usa together with the PT (again, sorry) system. ridiculous... "sorry, if it were a laptop it woulda been ok, but no warranty for towers outside of us". gimme a cheap pc any day man...

and hi knowa, nice to see you back

so are we, poor pc users

i predict having to abandon logic in about two year's time, if macs dont become cheaper in the meantime (or i become rich, whichever actually happens first)

"gimme a cheap pc any day man..."

damn no, I repeatedly want to kick my PC round the
studio jump up and down on it and then throw it out the
window......I have no such desires with my G4
powerbook and dual G4 tower now that their are both
running OS 10.2.Not only are they stable as f**k but
their slick as f**k too.
To get a PC to run as well as a Mac you have to spend
the same amount sooo if you have to do that ...may as
well get a mac!

awwww c'mon mate... 150EUR for a motherboard and my pc is just as slick and sick as any, and with a very choosy soundcard on top of that! mind you, a year ago i didnt believe myself it would be possible so i know where you're coming from, but believe me, stable pc is *not* only stuff of legends.

look, i'll say it again: 750eur for a G4 motherboard. see?
