Does that thing sync up to external MTC/sync
now?The spring reverb sounds are a touch of
old on drums.I listened to the scientist dub
demo and it sounded as real as a softgear
package can.I'm thinking of using a 12"
powerbook w/ Reason,my emi 2/6, and my
OXY 8 for a travel system.I'm heading off on a
3 1/2 week kayaking,snorkeling,and
underwater videography adventure in the
Bahamas, and US Virgin Islands.I'm hoping I
can fit my camera,computer,OXY 8,and emi
into 2 Pelican Cases.When I get back,i'll want
to sync my reason stuff up w/ my MPC based
studio.So does it sync?

the only sync option from outboard gear is midi clock.
it's supposed to work fine. never tried it myself though.

you could always rewire it to your favorite sequencer
and then sync that to mtc. it's kind of a hassle but the
only thing i can think of.

yeah,I know about midi clock.I've already
installed it and tried it w/ the demo of
reason.Wish Reason would go ahead and
nest comprehensive sync into the app.The
way it is now it's sort of the "virtual equivlent to
using a post cv/pre midi sequencer w/ your
midi gear.I guess i'll probably still buy it since
it is a a porta studio of extreme capability.Tell
me more about the Redrum/Dr.Rex
techniques you mentioned awhile back.laterz.

I cant remember if REASON allows external midi to trigger the rack sounds.... does it? - (I've de-installed it right now after upgrading machines to XP)

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

modules.

holy crap! the new reverb kicks ass. and the distortion unit... wow. i think it's safe to say now that Reason is serious business - this just ain't no toy, not with malstrom, the new sampler, the reverb and distortion, vocoder (haven't really had at it yet but looks sweet), and rewire into your DAW software. yummy.

yup, that reverb unit is dope. the distortion has some
crazy cool settings. not just distortion but compression
and bit reduction.

The compressor in Reason is my absolute favorite for pumping. So dirty good.

Just started programming maelstrom more lately, and if you can't get sick sounds out of it you're just fookin' retarded.

And the orkester bank is phenomenal for what is basically an "add-on"

And the sound quality is the shit. I still use external effects with rewire (the EQ is still professionally unusable, imo), but the synths are fat and round, and the samplers play out whatever quality you put into them. Very fine kit. Couldn't do what I do without it anymore.

Just check out my "love theme tide"... take away the piano and trill's vocals, and it's a reason track!

yah, i was thinking recently how i wanted a plug that could do bit reduction stuff, and there it is.

i think the new reverb is the first reverb/delay software that i've used that can be tweaked in real-time without nasty artifacts.

even subtractor is a really cool instrument - lots of textures in there if you work with it. the presets are pretty lame though, as with most synths out there (hard and software).
