SCSI controller is on ID 7, and that you
have no other devices hooked up in your
chain.
Set the jumpers J6 to any ID between 1
and 6. I'd go with 1 or 2, since zip
drives and such usually like 4, 5, or 6.
Enable termination by installing a
jumper across pins 5 and 6 of JP3. Make
sure the rest of the settings are at
DEFAULT. the document on the site you
poiunted me to shows you exactly how to
do that.
From your e-mail, are you trying to hook
the drive up externally to test it?
umm, is it getting power? does it spin
up? How are you hooking it up?
I'd recommend bolting the sucker in
there and hooking it up for good, but
leave the case open. Fire up the
sampler and see what you get.

on my Emu Darwin is that it doesn't
automatically spin up the drive. I have
to try to open a project, then it'll
spin the drive up, then I have to
cancel, re-mount, and then re-open. So
check those jumpers and see if there's
an auto-spin up or a low power mode or
something like that and disable/enable
appropriately so that the drive's online
all the time. I didn't notice when I
looked because I wasn't looking for it :P
