DSP Chips aren't all that expensive.... Hardware alone doesn't explain the price. There're other wierd (and probably more expensive) things too. Optical endless rotary encoders for one...
Hopefully someone will do a blowout sale of remaining stock, but I have a feeling there isn't any - Novamusik.com is already out of stock on Q keyboards

no it's not expensive - remember that Korg OASYS debacle when dan was saying it cost so much cos of the dsp chips and I showed him they wer elike 5 bucks each

ah - the good old days... for any DT noobs just do a search for OASYS and have a laugh - it takes some reading tho - it was a 4 part thread in which Dan, the Korg man accused me of all sorts of crap - and I exposed that he knew all along Korg were going to drop the price even while telling people to buy OASYS at the full retail price because they were NOT going to drop the price... What a liar he was!

aight... i was just guessing why the price difference.
btw... saw a post from one of the waldorf guys over on kvr-vst. apparently they really went broke and the site is down beacuse of unpaid bills. they're trying to get it back up in order to make an official statement regarding the situation.
such pity...

HI PEEPS I AM HOPING THAT WALDORF WONT DIE OUT ON US THEY MAKE FANTASTIC SYNTHS I HAVE 3 OF THE FAMILY .I HOPE WHO EVER IS GONNA RUN THE SHOW FOR WALDORF WILL DO IT RIGHT.WALDORF PROBABLY WENT BANKRUPT BECAUSE THERE PRODUCTION RATE WAS VERY SLOW WERE AS VIRUS SYNTHS ARE MASS PRODUCED I HAD PROBLEMS TRYING TO GET MY XT
