2 X 15
A 2 X 15" full-range modular cabinet for club and party systems... You can mutiply the cabs for even more power. This one is a beastie, offering more volume, and lower bass-end delivery... yet, again, it's not to hard to build.
You can use these as a pair with a single decent stereo power amp up to 500 watts per channel, or you can stack them for a more powerful system using Tri or Bi amping, and by adding extra input sockets and wiring them differently, you can couple the bass section and the mid/tops of several units to their own dedicated amp after an active cross-over has split the signal
So for example... as a straight pair, great!.. add an amp and party!!... but as the bass section is sealed from the upper units, by adding an exra power amp for the bass, with a cross-over driving it you can couple the bass sections together to be driven by their own dedicated stereo amp... the top end can be driven by another stereo amp, and you can use/keep the passive cross-overs to split the upper-end signal into mid & treble for the tweeters/horn.
With a tri-amped system, all 3 sections can have their own dedicated input socket and be driven direct.... So as you see it is very flexible.
The speaker brand is up to you, but... IT REALLY SHOULD RESONATE AT 40-50 Hz.....That's the ideal for the cab design

This is a very good system cabinet...easy to build, and easily upgradable to a full bi or tri-amped active system...

Another comb filtering mess. Like elements should never be horizontally mounted. Any 2nd semester engineering student knows this. Worst cabinet deign I've ever seen.

I'm about to undergo building a pair of these. I'm planning on using Eminnce Beta15's for the bass, Eminence Beta 10's for the mid and then Eminence compression horns and a piezo tweeter for the treble. I was wondering if adding a couple of ports either side of the bass drivers is reccommended or is a straight no-no? Any feedback appreciated to my email djjoe1@hotmail.co.uk - thanks, Joe.

i am planing on building one of these and then another to make a pair. i am new to speaker building and unfortunately am finding it hard to decide on what drivers to use. obviously as this is my first project i am not looking for pro drivers but i do have quite a flexible budget. it would be a massive help if you could recommend me some drivers that would work well in this cab. thanks alot

Please could someone suggest to me any drivers. I'm looking at £50 for sub bass and then moving down in price for the other drivers. Thanks.
