!J Development Ninja
Ninja!.... !jdevelopment's super free synth... so good!... about 3.5 mb to d/load and well worth the wait. Their new site is back online, (see !jdevelopment link on right side column LINKS), and the updated files have been added to the new site so why not go over and grab this and the other freebies...
Oscillators screen
Two osc's each with it's own envelope..
But just look at all the other options... the envelope itself is comprehensive, you've got a mode-switchable master/slave relationship fpor the two osc's, and various sync options, each osc has options for retriggering the individual osc's, porta keyscaling on off (good to make drones) & velocitytoamp... you also have phase adjust, a control called 'edge' (like a drive gainer) and overall level...
Filter screen
Great filter section, look at the choices!... Nice addition of those two 3 band filters - The filter envelope is on this page too and a saturation section in the center.
modulation screen
Equaly comprehensive for a freeware is the Mod section... plenty of options as you can see... the portemento slider setting thing is nifty, and as you can make out from these reduced-in-size images, all here is sync-able to midi clock...
Spectrum screen
Final bit with a nice comprehensive 3-band parametric eq... & more!..
I mean just look at all that for free, this'll do drums and wierd and wonderful percussiveness no problems and thumping fat or hollow howling basses, for free it's ludicrous really... every controller displays midi controller number as you move it.. nice touch!... Also it's very nicely designed, distinctive and easy to use... sounds great too and there's sounds ready to go with it!... they must be rich to give this away free! :)

I really like the Ninja by J Development. It has lots of flexibility and very useful sounds, But I am so frustrated with it that I think I wil stop using it.
Why? because it simply can not remember the program changes. If I make a patch change in one channel, all others change as well. I woould only consider using th efirst channel for one sound. As a multi timbral it's too much trouble.
