Studiomaster IDP1
The IDP1 was a late 80's Compressor, Limitor, Gate, Expander and Ducker - in other words dynamics, but with a modern (at the time) twist in it's interface and preset storgage - From the manual intro:The Studiomaster IDP represents a new "intelligent" approach to dynamics processing. In a 1U 19" rack mount package, it combines features and effects only previously realised by the use of multiple effects units.
The basic concept of the Studiomaster IDP1 was to produce a versatile dynamics processor which allowed comprehensive MIDI control, without losing the ease with which a conventional dynamics processor may be set up. Thus the IDP1 has a very simple operating system.
Here is a list of the Factor Preset Programs:
- Bass Guitar 1 - General Bass Compressor
- Bass Guitar 2 - Punchy Bass Compressor

Well, this was released around the time when digital was coming to the masses, and Studiomaster also released stuff like the excellent 16 channel 19" midi mute unit which could be plumbed in to a mixer's outs or whatever at the rack and controlled by midi note on/off control... all good stuff, this is an odd one tho..
