Studiomaster Series II - 16-8-2
Here's the Series 2 16-8-2, same sweep bass and sweep mid eq (with hi/lo shelving) for more on the channel details see the 16-8-16 mixdown page. Great eq on these boards and full-on pro facilities, so these studiomaster boards slay modern budget competition for a fat sound. This series had MIDI control for channel mutes - MIDI Controlled Muting (MCM) automation.A classic home studio desk from back in the day, can I get a witness?... please add your user comments below!

Just finished repairing a 20 channel (16 mono and 2 stereo channels), 8 buss
vintage studiomaster mixer. i have no idea what model it is but 4 busses were
added via side car. just looking fo as much info as i can about these mixers as
i mod and repair them. i also have a 16-8-16-2.

Such a great flashback for me. Here in western Canada back in the late eighties, my Country Rock road band used this board exclusively. I was left with it, in its aircraft case and stored it in my basement for 30 years. I am thinking of using it for my little home studio now. Never did use the MIDI feature back then (we didn't know how it worked and couldn't have effectively utilized it 'Live' anyway). We purchased it new in 1987 and used it for about 2 years, then about a year and a half doing some recording afterward, otherwise stored. I will see how it sounds now, albeit after going through it first, we did always love its warmth in a live situation. Wish me luck!
