Good speakers! I've lived with these for about 12 days and they are excellent - full on video review is there. I've got a pair! They are pretty awesome! I needed a pair of near fields pretty quick and reasonably cheap!....they have done the job! I am freeform Hardcore Producer, with a few things coming out....these have really done the trick to sort out some mix problems at a budget!
Go get em!

I own the RP6 version of these monitors and have done for about 6 months
or so.
Fantastic value for the build quality and, as said in the review,
stunningly accurate at low volume output.
I also bought without an audition (did a bit of research thought) and
have never been disappointed in normal usage. They can get a bit out of
sorts at very high volume output but as monitors go these are capable of
delivering great accuracy at almost any level you want to realistically
mix at.
Highly recommend them.

I liked the review - a hand-on-heart down-to-earth evaluation. I bought these without reviewing also, partly because I've heard plenty of KRKs and know their quality, while all the Rokit 5 reviews were so overwhelmingly positive, I thought I'm not going to be disappointed. I'll report back when I have them. As it is, I'm gagging for some mid-range clarity. So much is focused on bass and high end nowadays. It's in the mid-range that budget monitors seem to fall off. Let's see.

I bought a used pair of these after extensive research. For the price, they are a brilliant choice. The amount of detail is staggering and paired with a good "musical" sub, I would have no hesitation to mix and master "serious" projects with them.
Dancetech's review is dead on when addressing the midrange detail. This is not - as he said - to say they are a midrangy speaker. The point is that in the real world, midrange is a huge, very textured sonic area. I feel that 99% of consumer speakers have trained our ears to devalue midrange detail, substituting it for sizzle and boom. And pathetic degrees of accuracy.
Nothing is more enjoyable than hear ALL of the subtleties in recorded music and these are amazing at double duty - being a great mixing/mastering tool, and a way to appreciate what most other consumer speakers are ill designed to provide. The opportunity to hear EVERYTHING as it was meant.

You can tell some of the reviews here sound fake, ie. uses the same generic writing style and oft repeated words like "mix".. as if every KRK user is a studio tech.
Well, I'm not going to be quite so kind. It's acvtually not a bad little speaker although the specs are a little optimistic. On the plus side it does offer decent punchy bass for such a small box and okay dynamics and power delivery. The mids and highs are essentially clear but lack the refinement you get from more expensive offerings and a few budget products as well. Yes there is coloration, a forward hooty quality and typically bright KRK highs but the biggest disappointment is listener fatigue and higher than average perceived distortion. A subtle smearing of high frequency information that other (better) speakers that accurately sort out instrumental lines. Especially so compared to my mucho expensive Focal Diablos... however I'm being unfair given the price difference.
I'll be more fair and compare them to Elac B5s, actually a lower priced speaker then the KRKs. Sorry, but the Elacs trump the KRKs for transparency, smoothness, coherency, neutrality and naturalness. No contest. The KRKs edge them out slightly in the bass but only slightly... however their tendency toward astringency and sterile aggressiveness leaves me fatigued after a typical listening session, something the Elacs never do.
